Pharmacies

Reuss Pharmacy, 515 N Esplanade St, is located in Cuero and was established in 1872. They offer home delivery and sell home medical equipment.
LifeChek Drug, 101 E Main St, is located in downtown Cuero and has been in business since 2001.
Walmart, 1202 E Broadway St, Cuero, has a pharmacy located inside its store.

Long-Term Care

Cuero Nursing and Rehabilitation

Cuero Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 1310 E. Broadway, is a private, Medicare and Medicaid certified facility of 120 beds. They offer Medicare services in a 24 bed unit for residents in need of skilled care. The private/semiprivate and Medicaid portion of the home is utilized to care for residents who need assistance with activities of daily living.

A skilled nursing unit is used for residents who are recovering from recent hospitalization and may require additional rehabilitative therapy. Other services on this unit include IV therapy, wound care and respiratory therapy. The skilled unit is staffed with a Medicare coordinator, a licensed nurse, and a certified nursing assistant. The staff develops specialized care plans that assist the residents in reaching their maximum potential.

Whispering Oaks Manor

Whispering Oaks Manor, 105 Hospital Dr., is a nursing home facility that offers 98 beds and is located next to the Community Hospital.

Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation, 1010 MacArthur St., is a nursing facility that offers 80 beds.

Sodalis Elder Living - Cuero Memory Care

Sodalis Elder Living - Memory Care, 131 Industrial Blvd. Sodalis Elder Living exists to serve elders who are living with diminished cognitive and/or physical limitations. Sodalis Elder Living was one of the earliest care providers in the United States to implement the Person-Centered Care approach, which is designed to enhance dignity and foster independence.

Dialysis Services

DaVita

DaVita provides dialysis services for those diagnosed with chronic kidney failure, a condition also known as chronic kidney disease (CKD). The corporation has over 1,200 outpatient dialysis facilities and acute units in over 800 hospitals. DaVita is located in 42 states and the District of Columbia, serving approximately 100,000 patients.

Cuero Medical Clinic

The Cuero Medical Clinic is a Family Practice clinic that offers most health services except child birth. The Clinic has one MD, three DOs, and one nurse practitioner.

Bohman Clinic

Bohman Clinic was started over 40 years ago. The Bohman Clinic offers general practice services from obstetrics and pediatrics to geriatrics. The clinic has three MDs and one PA.

Texas Department of State Health Services September 2005 report: 25 direct patient care and primary care physicians who practiced in the region.
The ratio of total persons to each physician in the area was 823.9 residents per each physician.
This compares to a statewide ratio of 446.4 persons for each physician in Texas.
Another way of reporting these figures is by showing the number of physicians as a ratio per 100,000 residents. In this study area, the ratio in direct patient care was 1,584.5 as compared to the statewide ratio of 642.3 in direct patient care physicians per 100,000 population as of 2005.
The ratio of physicians in primary care was 1,716.5 compared to a statewide ratio of 1,463 .5 physicians in primary care per 100,000 persons in the population statewide.

According to the September 2006 report from the Texas Department of State Health Services, there were 12 pharmacists in the area.
There is a ratio of 1,716.5 persons for each pharmacist. Texas has 16,944 pharmacists statewide or a ratio of 1,357.6 persons for each pharmacist in the area.
The ratio of pharmacists per 100,000 residents was 58.3 compared to 73.7 per 100,000 residents statewide. The Texas State Board of Pharmacy data for September 2006 shows there are 7 licensed pharmacies in the study area. The total number of licensed pharmacies statewide is 5,813.
